There are many impurities in the thick TC4 titanium alloy tube. After classification, in order to facilitate analysis, a representative impurity is found in each group of impurities, as a key component, to represent the main separation limit of 4B system. It shows that in the crude TC4 titanium alloy tube liquid, when a key component is qualified, it can be considered that all the impurities in the group have been basically separated and removed. The selected key components should not only be large in content, but also be difficult to separate. FeCl3 in the high boiling point impurity, SiCl4 in the low boiling point impurity and VoCl3 in the similar boiling point impurity were found to be the key components of this group. In this way, the separation of a multi-element system can be simply regarded as the separation of the four element system of sicL4-TiCL4-VoCL3-fecL3.


According to the different characteristics of various impurities in crude TC4 titanium alloy tubes, different separation methods should be used to refine them.


For the high boiling point and low boiling point impurities in the crude TC4 titanium alloy tube liquid, according to their characteristics and TC4 titanium alloy tube boiling point or relative volatility difference, can be separated by physical method - distillation or distillation.


The solubility of FeCl3 and other high point solid impurities in TC4 titanium alloy tube is very small, and some of them are dispersed in TC4 titanium alloy tube as suspended matter. Most of the suspended solids have been removed by mechanical filtration during chlorination. However, the remaining very fine solid impurity particles form a colloidal solution in the tetrachloride and dissolve a small amount in the TC4 titanium alloy tube, which is difficult to be completely removed by mechanical filtration alone. It needs to be refined by distillation.


The distillation method must be carried out in a distillation tower. The bottom temperature of the distillation tower is slightly higher than the flick point of TC4 titanium alloy tube (about 140-145 ℃), and the volatile components of TC4 titanium alloy tube are partially vaporized; The non-volatile component FeCl3 remains at the bottom of the tower because of its low volatility. Even if there is a small amount of volatilization, it may be cooled by the falling condensate and fall back to the tower width. The temperature at the top of the control tower is at the boiling point of TC4 titanium alloy tube (about 140 degrees Celsius). Due to a small temperature gradient in the tower, the steam of TC4 titanium alloy tube forms an internal circulation in the tower, and the upward vapor and the falling droplets contact each other, carrying out the heat and mass transfer process, increasing the separation effect. In this process, the high temperature point impurities such as FeCl3 in the TC4 titanium alloy tube vapor rising along the tower are gradually reduced. The pure TC4 titanium alloy tube vapor is selected from the top of the tower and condensed into distillate by the condenser, while the FeCl3 in the kettle practice liquid is enriched constantly and discharged regularly to make it separated.
